Patiala: Transfer of criminals from one jail to the other will now be done under the direction of an SP-level official in each region. The official will be held accountable in case a criminal runs away from the police network.

The administration has intended to take on a standard operating procedure (SOP) for taking prisoners for court trials, stress more on video conferencing technology and work out problems confronted by policemen escorting the criminals.
2 days after three prisoners runaway from police charge after slaughtering a head constable in the city of Bathinda, two of the charged were today killed, the administration has decided to renovate the complete system of taking prisoners for court hearing. “The SP will be accountable till the police group from his region hands over criminals back to the prisons,” stated DS Bains, Principal Secretary, Home.
“A time and travel schedule for all criminals being shifted from jail to court and back will be drawn by the SP,” Bains added.

The day began on a promising note for the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) as it made 7 crore on April 26.

During bidding process, under the 11.7 acre land plan, around 6 residential plots, 2 SCOs and 2 booths got sold.
In the same way, 1 residential plot from 25.5 acre land plan got sold.
She added that PUDA made a profit of around 7 crore from the bidding process.

The Patiala police will commence a Monitoring Programme (MP) by the coming month to assist addicts give up drugs.

Patiala: Dreaded terrorist Sandeep Singh, a charged in the 2007 Shingar Cinema attack in the city of Ludhiana that took lives of around 6 individuals and left 37 badly hurt, was found dead in his room within the maximum-security Nabha prison.
While the police officers await the postmortem examination report of the dead, sources inside the prison stated that Sandeep become drug-addict and had recently got heart troubles.
The officials stated that Sandeep Singh, also known as Harry, who was remanded by the court under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Explosives Act, was detected unconscious and admitted to the Nabha Civil Hospital today morning.
“He was announced brought dead and initial probes hint that he died of heart attach,†the sources said.
A thorough report in the case is awaited. PSEB chairperson Dr Tajinder Kaur Dhaliwal stated, “After bagging the authorization from the state administration in this regard, we are ready to hold a conference with experts and a special workshop on the matter on April 30 and May 1.”

The police have lodged a case under excise act 61-1-14.

Tehsildar Jaspal Kaur, who is placed in the city of Patiala, along with her daughter got booked below Section 11 of the Prevention of Child Labour Act following the charge of the father of a 10-year-old female child.
The 10-year-old girl was rescued by occupants from an MIG apartment in Dashmesh Nagar and taken to hospital.
The girl told the police officials that Jaspal Kaur and her daughter had locked her in the house before going to the work.
The girl, who got injured and had deadly marks on her body, stated that the Jaspal’s daughter had tortured her badly with iron bars.

The brain behind an inter-state vehicle lifter gang, in which the whole family got involved, has been detained by Gurgaon police on April 24.
The officials have also detained his companion from Kurukshetra and five stolen vehicles have been recovered from him. Three gang members were already arrested and seven vehicles were recovered from them a day before. They have been produced in city court on Wednesday and sent to judicial custody.
The crew was involved in the criminal offense for past 5 years. As per police, the gang-head Ravi, and his companion Raghubeer alo known as Sahil have beenined on Wednesday, whilst other 3 associates got setained on April 15.
As per inspector Anand Kumar, in-charge, crime branch, “This gang was mostly active in the NCR. The gang members sold stolen vehicles in Meerut, Jalandhar, Patiala and other cities. We have recovered two Innova, two Swift cars, two Maruti Ritz, Swift D-zire, Tata Magic, Tavera, Alto, Bolero from the accused. The gang associates purchased the damaged vehicles from insurance firm to temper stolen vehicles engine and changed numbers. After tempering they sold the vehicle easily.”
Rajesh Duggal, DCP (crime) stated, “The head of the gang Ravi has criminal history and his brother-in-law is also involved in the vehicle lifting. The female fellow members also assisted in vehicle stealing. Around 6 months back, he was detained by Delhi police and then once in the year 2008. Raghubir aka Sahil has been reserved in theft and liquor smuggling cases and the other 3 charged Yogesh, Nitin and Rajkumar ran old spares shops in Sirsa together with selling and buying of stolen vehicles.”

The fervor and promise of a single man resulted into the plantation of approximately 25,000 plants in the city of Patiala in Punjab — a noble attempt to revitalize the green cover of this famous city and conserve surroundings.
“From the past 3.5 years, our organization had carried plantation of around 25,000 tree saplings in many areas of Patiala district,†Rajneesh Kumar, a research scholar and president of the Paryavaran Welfare Society (PWS), told the Epoch Times.
The PWS was set up in the year 2009, as a scheme to uphold biodiversity, guard “paryavaran†(environment), and save energy resources at local level.
To keep an eye on saplings’ endurance rate after plantation, the group visits each plantation site after a period of 15 days. The inhabitants who volunteered to assist in preservation of the floras were made fellow members of the association, thus creating consciousness and involving the local society.
“As action speaks louder than mere education in the form of lectures, villagers are now getting involved in caring of trees.†“The tree saplings planted by our organization are growing in healthy condition and their survival percent is above 90 percent.â€

But, as per a report by the Forest Survey of India (FSI), the forest and tree cover of the nation is 78.29 million hectare that makes 23.81% of its geographical region.

Ashwani has served on the board of SBoP, where he headed the audit group, is an associate of the steel consumers’ council of the union administration, and is a special guest to the direct taxes group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Nabha (Patiala): World famous cello player Sasika Rao on April 24 entertained pupils with her performance at Punjab Public School (PPS) in the city of Nabha.
In the one hour long concert organised by the Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY), tabla master Durjan Bhaumic and the globe’s only female pakhawaj performer, Chitrangana Agle Rehswal, were her accompanyists.
Sasika originated her liking for Indian classical during postgraduate studies in music at the University of Amsterdam.
In the year 1994, she reached India and began learning Indian classical music from specialists.
School principal Jagpreet Singh distributed prizes to the performers.
