10th PSEB English Paper Leaked; Students Suffer
Yesterday, Punjab school education board (PSEB) reprinted a Class X state board English question paper in Banur after it got leaked, resulting into muddled scenes at the examination centres.
Hoards of pupils, ready and waiting outside the exam centres, had to confront uneasy moments as the arrangement for the new paper postponed the start of exam by around two hours.
Directorate general of school education (DGSE), which supervises the administrative schools in the state of Punjab, on Monday addressed deputy commissioner to inquire the police to lodge an FIR against unidentified people.
“The leak was noticed at 9.15pm on Sunday after a telephone call by an attentive shopper at a photocopy centre to the region education officer, and the DGSE office was then appraised of the occurrence at 10 pm. We wasted no time in making a fresh paper. I have forwarded the directions to region the authorities to go on with an FIR,” K S Pannu, DGSE chief stated.
The newly printed English paper had to be net-mailed to all centres in the regions, he added up.
The happening took place just two days after an Amritsar BJP head, together with his 15-year-old son, had beaten up school administrators and flashed a gun at them for discontinuing his daughter from copying at an examination centre.
“As there is no proof against anybody, we are making attempts to find who are behind the paper leak,” said the deputy commissioner.
