1,514 Policemen On Guard In Fatehgarh Sahib

Considering the election linked violence in other regions of Punjab, detailed safety arrangements have been made in the region for smooth performance of the zila parishad and block samiti polls.

Around 1,514 police people would guard 478 polling booths in 5 blocks of the region.

Around 22 patrolling parties have been positioned to uphold tranquility during the polling. Around 135 polling booths have been announced responsive and unique video groups will keep a vigil on anti-social elements.

District Returning Officer Malwinder Singh added that in addition to a heavy safety force, 3,000 workers were on election duty in the district.

He added up that all the election booths would be managed by staffers had been trained in the poll related work.
