18 Injured In Cong-SAD Clashes In The City
Over 18 individuals got injuries in election clashes crosswise the city of Patiala. The Congress stated that local SAD heads, particularly councillors, threatened Congress backers and a few got dragged, chased and threatened in front of the police officials.
The overall polling proportion in Patiala stood at 64%.
In the city of Rajpura, the polling percentages was 67%, in Ghanaur 65%, Sanaur 58%, Samana 62%, Patran 68%, Patiala Rural 57% and Nabha 68%.
In Samana, booth-capturing in more than 12 villages have been reported.
6 Congress backers got injuries. Vehicles boasting Haryana registration numbers were witnessed transporting SAD backers and entering poll stations.
In Fatehpur village, outsiders arrested poll booths for more than 40 minutes during the noon, “A mob of more than 100 goons headed by a councillor selectively targeted polling booths. The local police played a partisan role,†alleged Patiala MP Preneet Kaur.
In the regions of Sanaur and Shutrana, fights between Congress and SAD backers outside a dozen election booths scared the voters who returned to their home.
The Congress charged Shutrana MLA Vaninder Kaur Loomba and her family members were making attempts to threaten Congress applicants. 9 individuals got injured in more than 6 fights in Shutrana. Loomba was not there for remark.
Sanaur MLA Laal Singh stated that SAD backers fired into the air to shoo Congress backers. However the police refused the allegation.
Voting stayed largely peaceful in Patiala (rustic) with Congress head Brahm Mohindra holding the fort and assuring there was no booth-capturing.
In Nabha, 3 individuals were injured, one of them gravely, in a SAD-Congress fight.
