63 Per Cent Voting For Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samitis; Re-Poll At 8 Booths

The statewide voting for the 22 zila parishads and 146 panchayat samitis in Punjab finished on a calm note with some episodes of minor clashes on May 19.

The Punjab state polls commission announced a cautious 63% polling crosswise Punjab as it ordered re-poll at 8 polling booths accompanying some occurrences of fighting in the regions of Moga, Muktsar, Fazilka, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Patiala.
