Amarinder’s Wife Mends Fences With Opponents

With Capt Amarinder Singh no more at the wheel of matters in the Punjab Pardesh Congress group which he led for a period of 15 years, his MP wife and minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur is busy repairing hurdles with their competitors.

Preneet on March 31 met Brahm Mohindra, who had recommended Amarinder’s exclusion after the latter forwarded a notification to him for not attending the Moga election movement.

Preneet and Amarinder, in the last year assembly ticket allocation, had defended the ticket to Brahm from Patiala rural with the intention to obtain it for their son Raninder Singh.

With Amarinder currently out of the PPCC, his wife wasted no time calling Mohindra’s house for a ceasefire.

Mohindra previously symbolized the Patiala urban seat, when in the year 2002, Amarinder as the PPCC president transferred him to Samana, from where he was shot down.

As the Lok Sabha polls drawing near and heads like Deepinder Singh Dhillon have linked up with the Akali Dal, Preneet has commenced the damage control exercise.

A Congressman said, “The royal family didn’t bother even for ministers and MLAs till they were in control of the PPCC. Now, things have changed and Preneet is out pleasing others.”
