Around 8,700 Functionaries Deputed In Patiala

Patiala: Mr. GK Singh, Patiala Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer stated that all the arrangements at 900 polling booths for 21 regions of the zila parishad and 167 block samiti sectors had been fulfilled.

Mr. GK Singh added that more than 8,700 functionaries had been deputized for the same.

Patiala Superintendent of Police also stated that the harsh action would be taken against any person who attempted to create law and order troubles during the election process.

“We have positioned 3,700 policemen for defending polling booths and have set up 50 patrolling parties,” he added.
