Fatehgarh Sahib All Set To Be Tobacco-Free
Considering the sacred and historical significance of Fatehgarh Sahib, the government is all set to make it the 5th tobacco-free region of Punjab by the end of the existing month (May 2013).
It has divided it into 5 regions for the purpose of supervision.
Civil Surgeon Neelam Bhardwaj stated this while presiding over a gathering of physicians from the PGI, Chandigarh, and spokespersons of a variety of social groups.
Dr. Bhardwaj added that the attempts would be made to execute the Tobacco Control Act, 2003, in letter and strength in the region.
Dr. Neelam added that duties in this regard had been offerered to associates of a variety of social organizations.
These consist of Rotary Club, Bassi Pathana; Jago, Sirhind; Sarv Dharm Seva Society, Sirhind; Lions Club, Sirhind; Bus and Truck Body Builders’ Association; Satikar Bal Vikas Sanstha, Sirhind; Meharbaba Charitable Trust, Bassi Pathana; Voluntary Health Association of Punjab; Human Rights Organisation and Manav Bhalai Manch, Amloh.
