Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championship Concluded At NIS Patiala

Quarter-miler MR Poovamma and triple jumper Arpinder Singh were declared as the ‘best jocks’ as ONGC retained the overall trophy during the seventeenth Federation Cup senior athletic contest, which completed at the National Institute of Sports (NIS) in Patiala on April 26.

Oil and Natural Gas Commission ended with a count of 177 marks accompanied by Kerala (113) and Tamil Nadu (78) who remained on the second and third positions respectively.

Men: 200 meter: 1. M Manikanand Raj (AP, 21.41s), Rahul G Pillai (Ker, 21.61), 3. Ritesh Anand (Jha, 21.63).

1500 meter: 1. Ranjan Kariyappa (Kar, 3:48.26s), 2. Sandeep (Har, 3:48.51), 3. Pranjal Gogoi (Asm, 3:48.72).

5,000 meter: 1. OP Jaisha (Pun, 16:39.43s), 2. Lalita Babar (Mah, 17:22.78), 3. Swati Gadhave (Mah, 17:34.99).
