Females Get Credit For Their Input To Banking Sector
Over 700 delegates from divisions all over the nation assembled on April 21 for the first women bank staff meeting at the State Bank of Patiala head office situated at Patiala.
The All-India State Bank of Patiala Employee Federation had arranged the meet.
Lalita Joshi, joint secretary of the All-India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), and convener of the All-India Women Bank Employee Council, kicked off the occasion.
Mr. Amarjit Kaur, secretary of the All-India Trade Union Council (AITUC), was the chief guest.
“The work atmosphere and job profiles in banking business are speedily altering,” said Joshi.
“Women now are integral part of the human resource of banks but their induction in leadership roles is to be ensured,” she added.
Female staff had played a big role in the victory of the two-day nationwide banking stir during August last year, said Mrs. Amarjit Kaur.
“On February 20 and 21 of 2013, female staff stood up yet again, to defend the nationalized banking segment from outsourcing and bond arrangement,” she added.
Females were the worst victims of neo-liberal financial plans in different nations, as the modifications had augmented the cost of living and contracted the advantages and welfare actions of the personnel, Amarjit Kaur added.
The meeting’s main goal is to lift up issues like service situations, staffing, women’s empowerment and forums to defend females.
The delegates are from states where SBoP has noteworthy attendance.
A 15-member women’s council was also elected. The delegates decided to battle crime against females and augment women’s input at all levels in the organization.
