Funds Sanctioned For Patiala’s Quila Mubarak: HC
The state administration has approved funds for the maintenance of the city’s well known and renowned place, Quila Mubarak.
The administration has also clarified before the Punjab and Haryana High Court that there was no plan to move Patiala Central prison.
Taking on record the reply, the Bench of Acting Chief Justice Jasbir Singh and Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain stated that the appeal, considering the developments, has been rendered infructuous.
The High Court during March 2013 was told that the said renowned place shall be protected. The administration had also stated the High Court that it would embark on appropriate care and maintenance of the said place.
In its official declaration, the state had maintained that the administration was planning to spend around Rs 100 crore obtained recently from the Central administration for tradition defense, comprising for maintenance of Quila Mubarak.
This would also comprise the funds issued by the Archaeological Survey of India.
Punjab added that the procedure of picking technical advisors was expected to be finished soon. It further stated the Central Jail of Patiala was a saved memorial and there was no plan to bulldoze either Quila Mubarak or the Central prison.
Funds were also being made accessible for proper care and defense of other monuments in the royal city comprising Medal Gallery as well as Sheesh Mehal.
