Happy Baisakhi: Devotees Throng Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib To Mark The Festival
A large number of followers’ visited Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahind in Patiala to mark the holy festival of Baisakhi.
Baisakhi honors the commencement of Khalsa panth by Sikh’s 10th Guru Sahib, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in the year 1699. It also links to the start of the period in which wheat gets reaped in north India.
The devotees offered prayers at Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahind.
Lots of individuals took holy dips in the Sarovar (sacred tank).
‘Akhand Path’ (48-hour non-stop recitation of Sikh scripture), ‘kirtan’ (singing of hymns) and katha (religious discourses) were undertaken to mark the celebrations.
