In Lockup, ‘Abroad’ Dream Merchant Fools Jail Warder Of Rs. 11 Lakh
As per latest reports, a man detained in Patiala Central Jail following blames of betraying managed to defraud none other than a jail custodian of Rs. 11 lakh by selling him dreams of a fancy life overseas.
Mohinder Chopra, who was already confronting charges of migration fraud, afterward bagged bail and remains at large, whereas the warder, Tarlochan Singh, has now lodged a case.
A resident of Bhiwani in Haryana, Mohinder was in jail in the year 2009 when Tarlochan admittedly attached him.
“Chopra told me he had assisted several people settle overseas. As I showed curiosity, he said he could first send my son, Sarabjit Singh, to Europe. As said, Sarabjit delivered Rs. 1 lakh as token money to begin documentation at Chopra’s house in Haryana,” added Tarlochan.
By early 2010, Singh had paid several payments.
Tripuri police station house officer (SHO) Kulwant Singh stated that a case of betraying has been lodged and a probe launched.
