Medical Insurance Cover For Every Citizen, Says Health Minister
In a far reaching progression, the state administration has lifted up the realm of Bhai Kanahiya Scheme and broadening Medical Insurance cover of around Rs. 1.50 lakh to each and every resident of Punjab.
It was revealed by the state health minister Madan Mohan Mittal.
Mr. Mittal stated that previously the medical cover was provided to only the affiliates of cooperative societies that has now been broadened to each and every resident of Punjab.
“The premium supposed to be paid under this plan has also been pruned to a lower level†The Minister added.
Mr. Mittal further stated that under National Health Insurance plan, the state administration has also determined to offer up Medical Insurance of Rs. 30 thousand to the 5.23 lakh BPL families of Punjab.
He stated that for the 10 lakh families covered under Atta-Dal plan, a latest Medical Insurance system would shortly be commenced.
He added that under this projected new Medical plan the premium of Rs. 400 alleged to be paid per family would be paid by Punjab administration.
“The Punjab administration has allocated a budget of Rs 20 crore for these novel systems,†the Minister added.
