MGNREGA: Ferozepur Has Most Pending Complaints; Patiala On 3rd Place
Around 100 complaints are still awaiting conclusion or confirmation under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in the state for the past few years.
A big part of the complaints are connected to the imbursement of wages, funds utilized in an inappropriate way and corruption in buying stationary items
The official numbers obtained from the Department of Rural Development disclosed that around 23 grievances were lying pending in the Ferozepur region. The second place is given to Muktsar region with around 16 grievances and on third position is Patiala region with 15 complaints pending.
Kapurthala region has 12 such grievances whilst Ludhiana has 6.
Tarn Taran, Bathinda and Jalandhar have 5 complaints each.
Hoshiarpur possesses 3 pending grievances whilst Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali boast 2 grievances each.
Amongst the regions having one pending grievance each comprise Barnala, Amritsar, Nawanshahr, Faridkot, Moga and Sangrur.
