Failing to facilitate smooth flow of traffic in the city, the traffic police in the city have decided to take on physicians, lecturers as well as technologists as traffic marshals.
The police functionaries have also drawn a wide-ranging plan to mend separators, traffic signals and to mark novel pedestrian crossings.
City’s Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. HS Mann stated that a yellow line would be made on all highways and vehicles placed outside it would be given sticker challans.
“Closed-circuit television cameras would also be set up and those people who violate the regulations would issued challans,†added up Mr. Mann.
He also stated that they had enrolled 10 woman constables and 15 male constables in the traffic division.
