On foreign pupils at her school
“Devotion is what matters to me, while admitting pupils, At the present time, I have only 15 pupils and 3 of them have got national scholarships. It is an awe-inspiring feeling to witness NRIs and foreigners show curiosity in Odissi, after witnessing performances. A minimum of 15 years is necessary to become an expert in this dance form.”
On 25 years of being an Odissi dancer
“Journey was appealing, however the top notch portion was performing in front of school kids via SPIC MACAY. When one dances in front of kids, one has to turn it as attractive as possible for them to keep them occupied. I was told that lots of pupils in Nabha learnt a variety of dance types and so I made my mind to bring them on stage with me”
On performing in Punjab
“I visited Ludhiana, 4 years ago, and now the whole city has altered a lot for good. I have also given my performances in Nabha, Chandigarh as well as Patiala, Kurukshetra in Haryana, and Nahan in HP. I will also be visiting the holy city of Amritsar.
