Patiala Physicians Make It Large On Second Attempt
The outcomes of the civil services main examinations got declared on May 03 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
This big declaration has given the city of Patiala two reasons to applaud.
Two of the city’s young physicians have made it to the high-status Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Dr Naveen Aggarwal bagged a rank of 31 and Dr Preeti Goyal came on 115th spot.
Both possess a degree of MBBS.
Dr Aggarwal (25) under training in Baroda in IRTS, pocketed the IAS tag in his second try with life science and psychology as his major subjects.
After he got placed 473 during the examination in 2012, the graduate of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital studied more concentrated to attain his childhood dream.
“The aim was in my intellect since I passed out of Class 12 in DAV School, Bathinda,†he added over telephone from Baroda. “I owe my accomplishment to the trust of my parents as well as pals.â€
Dr Naveen Aggarwal is the only son of Dr KK Aggarwal, lecturer and head of the forensic science section in Government Rajindra Medical College and Hospital here.
Dr Preeti Goyal (28), placed as excise and taxation officer (ETO) in the city of Nabha after being graded 26 in the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) tests in 2012, attained her ultimate aim with life science and Punjabi literature as subjects.
She is wife of Dr Raman Garg of the Indian Revenue Service, now deputy commissioner IT in Patiala region.
Dr Preeti did not join any special coaching class to clear the IAS.
“My hubby acted as my guide,†she said. “It was he who forced me.â€
The medical alumnus from Bengaluru has also served as rustic physician in the Punjab administration. Her family belongs to Lehragaga in Sangrur region, though it has a house here in addition.
PSTCL engineer lastly achieved in final try
Another applicant from the city of Patiala, Maninder Kumar, 29, got placed 421 in the examination. The assistant engineer in Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) in the city and electrical engineering alumnus from Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh cleared the exams in his final try with geography and sociology as subjects. He attributed his triumph to his wife, an IT consultant.
