Patiala Police Arrested 3 With 2.75-Kg Opium
The crime investigating agency (CIA) of Patiala police has arrested 3 so-called inter-state smugglers and retrieved 2.75-kg opium from them.
Mr. Gurpreet Singh Gill, Senior superintendent of police stated that on a detailed information, the officials tracked a Verna car and arrested the three people.
As per reports, two of them, Rajinder Kumar and Baldev Singh are the occupants of Ambala, and the third person, Raghuvir Singh is a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib.
During the hunt of the vehicle, the police officials detected the smuggled goods.
The charged used to bring narcotic from the state of Rajasthan and would sell it in the states of Punjab and Haryana, Mr. Gurpreet added up.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act had been lodged against the trio who were already confronting accuses of drug vending.
The police officials have taken Rajinder Kumar, Baldev Singh and Raghuvir Singh on a 2-day remand to probe their neighboring links and to be acquainted with the source of opium, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Gill said, adding that additional recoveries are also projected from them.
