Sasika Rao Performs At Punjab Public School, Nabha
Nabha (Patiala): World famous cello player Sasika Rao on April 24 entertained pupils with her performance at Punjab Public School (PPS) in the city of Nabha.
In the one hour long concert organised by the Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY), tabla master Durjan Bhaumic and the globe’s only female pakhawaj performer, Chitrangana Agle Rehswal, were her accompanyists.
Sasika originated her liking for Indian classical during postgraduate studies in music at the University of Amsterdam.
In the year 1994, she reached India and began learning Indian classical music from specialists.
School principal Jagpreet Singh distributed prizes to the performers.
