Selection Tests At NIS Patiala On May 27, 28
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has given an invitation to promising players for admission to its Centre of Excellence and SAI Training Centre for widespread training.
The yearly selection auditions will take place at Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) on Monday and Tuesday (May 27 & 28).
For Centre of Excellence, the tests will be carried out for hockey, athletic competitions, judo, weightlifting and wrestling for both males and females.
Applicants between the ages of 12 and 25 years, on June 1, will be regarded entitled.
The selection process for individual episodes is that the applicant should have received top 4 places in sub-junior, junior, cadet, youth, senior levels at the countrywide games or nationwide championships arranged by National Sports Federation or took part in the previous Olympics, Asian games or competition, world championship or World Cup.
Sportspeople applying for group occasions must have participated as an associate of national group senior, junior, sub-junior, youth or cadet chosen by National Sports Federation.
The sportspeople who have been affiliates of award winning group, which have stood 1st and 2nd places at national games or championship arranged by National Sports Federation or have taken part in last Olympics, Asian games or contest, world contest or world cup will also be judged as qualified.
For SAI Training Centre, tests would be carried out for cycling and fencing for males and females.
Under the selection process, sportspeople preferably belonging to the state of Punjab who have bagged medals at state, school, inter-university or other national-level rivalry in sub-junior or junior classes will be considered qualified.
