Union Govt’s Failure In Sarabjit Case Tarnished India’s Image: Badal

Rakhra, Patiala: Supporter of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal stated that the failure of the Union administration on diplomatic front has stained the image of country crosswise the globe.

While addressing the press persons after attending an occasion to mark the death anniversary of the mother of Rural Development Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, Mata Jaswant Kaur, the CM indicated that the demise of Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan amounted to grave lapse of the Centre administration on the political front.

The CM categorically stated that the Union administration has failed to verify the internal in addition to external violence owing to which threat was emerging large on the sovereignty of the country adding that presently the safety of the nation was in danger.

He added that due to the failure of the UPA administration on political front the image of nation has suffered unfavorably crosswise the world.

While showing deep fright and grief over the demise of Sarabjit Singh, the CM stated that the state administration was dedicated to make all out attempts for lending a favor to the relatives of the ‘national martyr’ in this hour of deep emergency and sorrow.

He added that the state administration had always supported the family of such champions who had given their life for the country adding that in the coming time also they would carry on aiding the families of those blameless individuals who have been aching in the foreign prisons.

Speaking on the issue of importing cattle from Pakistan, Badal stated that he had commenced the proceedings of importing these animals in the state about six months ago as a normal agriculturists for bettering the breed of the milch animals and had already paid all the connected charges and duties for it.

He stated that he had even bagged the required authorizations from the different sections of Government of India (GoI) for importing these cattle to Punjab from Pakistan.

Well-known amongst those present on the death anniversary comprised ex SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka, ex Ministers Master Mohan Lal, Surjit Singh Kohli, Harmel Singh Tohra and Ajaib Singh Mukhmailpur in addition to associates of SGPC and leaders of SAD-BJP coalition.
