YAD Members Staged Protests In CIty Against Acquittal Of Sajjan

Shocked at the release of Congress head Sajjan Kumar in one of the cases of anti-Sikh riots, several displeased Youth Akali Dal members staged protest in the city of Patiala.

At Anardana Chowk, the members along with ex city mayor Ajitpal Singh kohli carried out a rally shouting slogans and carrying posters such as ‘Hang 1984 offenders’ and ‘Give us integrity’.

To show their anger, they also burnt the dummy of Sajjan Kumar.

“After a long period of thirty years we are yet to get fairness. Administration should feel mortified. We will never disremember and pardon who permitted offenders get scot free. We want integrity,” one of the protesters statedd.

Kumar, an ex Congress MP, was released by a court in the national capital in one of the key cases of 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP also statedd, “The Congress party has been attempting to put a cover on this issue since 1984 so I am not surprised at all.”

“Thirty years have gone. We shall follow it in a relentless manner till justice is given. We shall not give up,” he said.

The court discharged Sajjan in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case whilst pronouncing 5 others for being a part of the mob, which murdered 5 Sikhs in Delhi Cantonment’s Raj Nagar region
